Virtual Event for 2021!

We will remain a virtual event for fall 2021 to ensure health and safety for students, employers and staff. Remaining virtual for this fall career fair will allow equal opportunity for all students and employers to attend this career fair without the burden of travel costs and other logistical issues. We appreciate your understanding and support of this Career Fair and to students as they engage with you and navigate career opportunities.

Meet your talent pipeline at the 2021 Virtual Retail Merchandising & Apparel Design Career Fair.

The Retail Merchandising & Apparel Design Career Fair will connect you with undergraduate students looking for internships, part-time and full-time opportunities in: Retail Merchandising, Product Development, Product Design, Buying, Visual Merchandising, Store Management, Planning, Apparel Design, Creative Design and Technical Design.

Retail Merchandising and Apparel Design students from the University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin-Stout, and St. Catherine University will be attending this virtual Career Fair so you can meet these outstanding students in one day for your hiring needs. Students at all stages, from brand new freshman to job ready seniors and recent graduates, will attend.

Registration Deadline: Friday, August 20, 2021.

Standard Registration: $200

Nonprofit/Independent boutique/Entrepreneur/Small companies with fewer than 25 employees: $75

If the registration cost is a barrier to your company's attendance at the Retail Merchandising & Apparel Design Career Fair this year, please email Sharon Heron, Employer Engagement Associate, at [email protected] to discuss options.

Register for the Fair

All registrations must be submitted through Handshake. Don't have an employer account on Handshake? Follow these instructions to Create An Employer Account.

We'll follow up with details about how to engage with students in this virtual environment, including:

  • Video, audio, and chat communication with students
  • Group meetings with up to fifty students (think Info Sessions)
  • 1:1 private student meetings

Note: During registration, you’ll be asked to share the number of representatives who plan to attend the fair—up to 100 representatives per employer are able to participate in the fair. Each representative you register will be able to create their own unique schedule to engage with students. To learn more about these features check out this Handshake-hosted training webinar.

Registration Deadline: August 20, 2021

Due to the setup required in our virtual career fair platform employers who register after August 20th may see lower student engagement.

Payment Deadline: August 31, 2021

After your registration is reviewed, you will receive an invoice which will direct you to log into Handshake to pay your fee. At that time you will be able to pay via credit card. Payment must be received in order for your registration to be approved and for you to be able to set your schedules to meet with students.

Cancellation Deadline: August 31, 2021

There will be no refunds after this date.

To cancel your registration please email Sharon Heron at [email protected].

Posting Your Jobs and Scheduling Interviews

We strongly encourage you to post your jobs in Handshake to ensure they are visible to candidates in advance of the Career Fair. Students are more likely to engage with you if they know what types of positions are available at your company. Postings are active for 60 days.

Schedule Virtual Interviews

Planning to interview candidates in the weeks following the fair?

  • You can conduct virtual interviews (via computer or phone) for your full-time and internship opportunities. These interviews should be hosted using your own communications platform ( Zoom, Skype, WebEx, etc.)

Please contact Sharon Heron, Employer Engagement Associate at [email protected].

We look forward to seeing you at the Virtual Fall 2021 Retail Merchandising & Apparel Design Career Fair and partnering with you for a successful recruiting year!
