Graduate Assistantships
Many universities offer graduate assistantships, which are basically part-time jobs in research or teaching that also include a tuition waiver. Most schools waive tuition for graduate assistants and also pay them a salary. While the salary may not cover all of your living expenses, assistantships can make a big dent in your graduate school costs!
Letters of Recommendation
Recommendation letters are weighted heavily for most grad programs. Colleges typically request 3 references and want at least some of them to come from faculty. Work supervisors from jobs in a related field are also a good option.
